World Food Azerbaijan - opening doors to a growing market

World Food Azerbaijan will be taking place on 19-21 May in the Heydar Aliyev Sport and Exhibition Complex, located in the centre of Azerbaijan’s capital city, Baku.

The exhibition comprises all sectors of the food and drink industry and features a wide variety of products from Azerbaijan and abroad.  In addition to the main exhibition, this year’s event will feature sections dedicated to drinks, seafood, food technology and packaging, as well as a new sector for halal food.  Halal food represents a huge market in Azerbaijan, reported to be worth $580 billion in 2008.

World Food Azerbaijan is the largest exhibition for the food and drink industry in the Caspian region.  In 2009, the event hosted 90 companies from 19 countries and welcomed over 6,000 visitors.  Event Manager, Agil Karimov, comments, “Over the last 15 years, World Food Azerbaijan has proved effective in bringing together manufacturers and consumers, and providing essential leads in an exciting and rapidly-growing market.  It offers the ideal opportunity to increase business throughout Azerbaijan and the Caspian region”.
